"Tiny fade to hardware outputs" problem

Justin, this "tiny fade" shouldn't get applied to playback start! SOLVED (3.alpha4) Example: Start playback right at the beginning of a bassdrum transient -> Transient "killed" on playback start. SOLVED (3.alpha4) 2nd Problem: "Tiny fade" isn't working properly on playback position jumps -> see playback-position-jump.rar (3.8kB) -> playback and jump to different positions on the items => clicks can be heard most of the time - no smooth tiny fade on ReaSynth nor the Sine audio item IMO there's no need for this fade on playback start (when stopped before)! Just on stop and playback position jumps it should fade.

You're right Destruct. It shouldn't be applied on playback start because it kills percusive instruments' transients.

Hi, but if there's no fade in, it could easily lead to clicks when starting. -Data

Without the tiny fade, starting playback in the middle of a sound will always click. It's fairly uncommon that you need to hear the first few samples, isn't it? If it is common for your work, you can just disable the preference. If I'm wrong and it is commonly common, we can change this, or make two preferences. PS. I love the tiny fade.

Here's a thought... if the user has "tiny fade" enabled, why not just start playback one tiny fade early? That is, the fade finishes where the playback cursor is set. It's just a few samples, so most people won't notice, but you wouldn't lose any transients or metronome clicks.

coming in next build (sep in/out options) the fade-outs arent totally reliable (and will never be) when using anticipative fx and run fx when stopped (or after stop for Xms) etc..

Why can't the operator tell reaper the length of a tiny fade. I think maybe the higher the PDC the more likely something glitches.
