Been trying to think through a standard fx chain per each track and 2buss for a collection of songs. I understand it's pretty much whatever sounds good to you individually. But, I wanted to hear how some of you using tape sims on your master buss place your limiter, and why. Thanks. Kyle

The limiter should always be last in the chain if you are using it to keep digital peaks at -.0# below zero dbfs. If that is not your goal then maybe it dosen't matter but you would still have to watch out for digital overs on the master bus. hth's Cheers
I was refering to the master bus specifically, meaning if you placed the tape sim after your "Brickwall" limiter on the master buss it could very well cause digital overs. Maybe i was a little unclear about that as it was the last line of my post. Sorry if i've caused any confusion :) Cheers
My thinking was to setup as though I was going to tape. But, as Wolffman said, with only one limiter in the chain I might have an overage problem to spike up. My main concern was protecting my monitors. But, I should be able to auto-mute if I exceed a preset level. That should be all the protection I'd need, shouldn't it? Kyle
