I'm running a G4 with OS 10.4.6 and PT 7.1HDcs7, 1x core 2x accel, SYNC, 2x 192 and a Prism ADA8, ATTO Dual SCSI and I can't bounce to disk, any disk!!! Even when I open a new session, import a mix and try to bounce to an interleaved file I get either Dae error 7100, bounce handler could not keep up or disk too slow or fragmented and it can't be the firewire bus because I havn't got an firewire perifs hooked up. It's getting really embarasing now!! Every time I try it stops about 10 seconds in. I seem to be able to record into PT no problem though the interfaces and internally through busses I've tried the Dae buffer, H/W buffer in all settiings turning off the plugin delay comp, every thing I can think of. I've even reinstalled Tools trashed Prefs THE LOT!!! Help!

If you can still record into the rig, I would record to disk. Open a stereo audio track, and make its input be say buses 127-128 (or whatever open buses you have). Its output needs to be the same as the main output for your system, typically A1-A2. Change the output of all channels INCLUDING the master fader to buses 127-128. Now when you place the new stereo audio track into input monitor you should hear your mix. Once you have done this and verified that the audio track is indeed receiving the mix from ALL channels and the master fader, then place the new stereo audio track into record, and record your mix to disk. Once this is done, highlight the new region in the region bin, and export it to whatever format you want. The export dialog box has similar controls to the bounce to disk dialog. You should be able to use this as a work around until you figure out what's wrong with the system. Erik
Thanks Eric That's kinda what I've been doing. I do most of my stuff at 24bit 96khz. How would you get around dither? Do you use an Audiosuite plug?? or when you export a 24bit 96khz file down to a 16bit 44.1khz stereo file does it use dither??? This is one of the advantages of using bounce with the maxim/L1. It seems wierd that PT can playback and record no problem, but won't bounce under any circumstance!! I don't really use the bounce function alot unless I'm bouncing down mixes with Maxim or L1/2. It's more for the other users of the studio where I work that want to use Bounce to Disk.
i use PEAK for Dither becasue it has POW-r built in. and i use Barbabatch for SRC, the best software SRC for MAC.

Hi, Have you tried deleting all the Digidesign database files from all hard drive partitions and the database folder inside Digidesign/apps support/library/mack HD And all the troubleshooting tips..... Chris
Thanks for the Tips and the links. But there's still no joy even after trying everything on the link. Digi Tech Support are thinking it could be a cabling issue with the drives or a seating issue with the digi cards. (don't see it myself! considering everything else seems to be working perfectly and it's just the bounce function that won't work). Ewan
Had that same thing a while ago. In my case it sometimes helped if I closed the mix window before the bounce. Seems funny, but apparently this gave me just enough "memory back" to finish the bounce without the errormessages. Let me know if it worked! greetz, Peter
Make sure all plug-in windows are closed during a BTD. I had an issue a couple of years ago where closing windows on all Waves plugs on the master fader did the trick.
