Hi everyone: Im having problems with Firewire drives using Protools, last week someone broughme a firewire drive that was causing protools LE on a laptop to crash and was behaving erraticly, when I inserted the drive on my Protools HD 3 the behavior start to pass me. Then I started another session and I notice that if I inserted any Firewire drive to my computer Protools will crash, It only happens with the firewire drives, I upgrade to 6.2.3 in Panther & and it happens again... Anyone knows what happens? Pablo L Mexico City Power Mac G4 dual 1.25 1.5 GB RAM Protools HD 3 Version 6.2.3 Panther version 10.3.2 SCSI 160 and ATA 100
Sorry if this is an obvious one but, are you quiting PT before plugging in the drive? Inserting and removing firewire devices while PT is running can cause problems.

Firewire drives never gave any problem to me and I've always used them. try to delete the digidesign databases folder on your drive and restart your computer. It worked for me...
