Failed Install, now can\'t remove?

MessageAuthor

The same thing happened to me! I installed but the install failed. Then I couldn't uninstall. Forget about 6.8 and get LE7. You should get the upgrade for free when you register the MBox2. However you still need to remove 6.8 completely. You need to do some registry editing to get it to work. It's not too difficult. Make sure you create a restore point. Follow the instructions in this answerbase article: Then after making sure 6.8 is completely gone!: 1. Get LE7 2. Make sure WinXP SP2 is installed. 3. Install 4. Make music (^_^) Once you get it working the mbox2 is pretty sweet!

Yeah...there were extra Digidesign directories from the failed installs. Digidesign(1), Digidesign(2) etc. So I deleted all of them and trashed all preferences again. After that it worked! Pro-Tools is very finicky but once its working it's nice. Very stable for me and I'm always runnning at 128 samples on the mbox 2.
