I am a newcomer to Reaper, and have been diving in over the past weeks. Discovered Free Item Positioning this afternoon and its blown my mind. What a brilliant function, such a lateral approach to audio, it feels very creative for sound design. Hats off to the Cockoteers for inventing a new audio paradigm. I am curious what folks have been using this for? Cheers, tdc

Mostly for replacing small parts of audio with other samples, basically making collage out of clips. You can drop in tens on clips, cut and reorder them.

I usually use it to make giant flam patches. Like Mondo claps ..where you need to layer say 15 claps ..but don't want the track bloat or vocal chants ..thats what primarily i have been uusing this feature for zook
