i need help with getting sound out of reason

pull open the sequencer window(its the bottom half), click on the device you wish to edit, click on the little piano chord thing in the upper left corner of it and voila, you have a piano roll, which is designated for those without midi controllers and such. this is in a nutshell.... evan

I am pretty new at Reason, too, and I don't have it available at this moment, but it seems to me that in those elements that you have to change from the "inital patch" that is the default when one calls the NN-19, for example, up. Select up, down or browse and I think that you will hear something.

i have the full reason version, but i believe that no matter if its reason adapted, it would have the Sequencer and piano roll...?
