Enermax is cool. I personally have the Nexus NX-4000.

I never recommended the Enermax, just said they are good PSU. The Nexus is DEAD quiet.

I even bought the Nexus iStyle case. Very nice design, but I can't find anyone selling them anymore. Mine was the second version with the dual optical door panel.

RE: silent psu selection

I bought an expensive fanless PSU for my PTLE rig, but because that reduced the amount of heat being taken out of the case the processor got too hot & would shut the thing down, this led me to think about putting a case fan in the box! (full circle!) So I went back to my old PSU and put the new one on ebay.. Which is where it is now, so if anyone wants a 75% reduction on the price of one of the puppies visit here: It's a 240volt box so probably only of use to UK readers..

RE: silent psu selection

may i also suggest the Antec True Power series. they're some of the best PSU's on the market and very quiet, too. they are temperature sensing so if things get too hot, they'll speed up the fans to protect your equipment. also, you can plug your case fans into a special power connector on it so that it will control their speed, as well. my computer is a monster heat producer but runs nearly silent, and a lot of the remaining noise is from the hard drives whining. interior sound insulation is a great thing, too. i have a 550 watt version and a 400-something watt version, and they're both great.
