Best motherboard for Athlon XP and Digi001?

I'm going to buy an Athlon XP 1900+, which motherboard should I buy?

I'm probably not the most specialist in motherboard but I can give you two advices. A friend, as a configuration with an ABIT motherboard which crashes all the time and it seems to be due to the motherboard (maybe a problem on this one in particular, I don't know but I would hesitate to buy because of this). The other advice is take a look to QDI motherboards, they are cheap by the price but works perfectly. I have one on my system and everything is perfectly stable (after near 2 years of use). The only detail is I don't know if QDI makes motherboard for Athlon XP. But I think you should give a look. Sorry, not being a pro in motherboard but this two exemples are reality. I hope it could help you in your choice.

The best performers so far for an Athlon configuration have turned out to be : Asus A7V266E and A7M266, and Gigabyte GA7DXR, all retrofitted with 512 Mb DDR Ram and in A7M266 case the Promise ATA 100 TX2 controller. L.G.

Has anyone tried the new VIA333-chipset with the Athlon XP:s? They are supposed to kick some real a**. I'm buying a Epox motherboard with via333, 512mb of 333Mhz DDR RAM and two Maxtor IDE133 RAID-connected... I guess that system should do the trick. Epox builds great motherboards.
